HP Pavilion AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-58 1.9GHz Convertible Laptop (TX1210US, TX1210CA)

Today we review a little laptop with great power. HP Pavillion TX1210US, with its slim design and 12" screen, is a great pick for on-the-go folks. With a very powerful AMD Turion 64 Dual-Core 1.9 GHz processor and 2 GB of preloaded DDR2 RAM, the TX1210US will be able to handle any resource intensive, RAM hogging programs, as well as multitasking between many different programs. Its integrated network card is also a 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet card, making it super fast when it comes to intranet file-sharing. The TX1210US is also great for business people who travel often, since it weights only 1.79 kg (about 3.95 lbs), with dimensions of 30.6(W) x 3.1(H) x 22.4(D) cm.

The TX1210US has a neat little 12.1 inch WXGA Hi-Def display screen with BrightView technology. The screen is also "convertible", which mean it can rotate up to 180 degrees in the z-axis, as well as fold down flat like a slate. This makes it great for making smaller, more personal presentations without having to shuffle chairs around. At such a close distance, you will undoubtedly notice the beautiful graphics provided by the built-in 559MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 (UMA) video card.

This notebook also comes with a mobile remote control, which is great for controlling PowerPoint presentations, as well as the digital entertainment system. Along with the notebook comes an HP webcam and integrated microphone, and Altec Lansing speakers – a luxury when it comes to notebook sound quality. As if the 160 GB hard drive isn't large enough, the TX1210US has a 8X Super Multi LightScribe DL DVD+/-RW optical drive, for storing files portably on DVDs. hp tx1210us

As with most new HP Pavillions, this one comes with Windows Vista Home Premium, a software bundle that includes Microsoft Office 2007 Student and Teacher Edition, and a 60 day trial version of Norton Antivirus by Symantec. Files and system access is easily protected by the integrated fingerprint reader, which also allows you to store all your passwords digitally by your fingerprint.

Overall, I would give the TX1210US a 9/10.
