HP Pavilion DV9260NR Review

HP Pavilion DV9260NR

If you are looking for a notebook that will blow you away in the realm of digital entertainment, then you need not look any further than the HP Pavilion DV9260NR. From the beginning of its creation, designers have been just packing this notebook with a full array of entertainment optimized parts and third party software. The only downside I can see from this notebook is its touchpad, which is slightly off centered to the left. The fact that it's slightly off centered is not the issue, but the most of us are right-handed, so getting a mouse is highly advised.

As would be expected from a $2250 USD price tag, this HP Pavilion is powered by an Intel Core2 Duo 2.0GHz processor (T7200), with a built-in Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection (802.11a/b/g). Alongside 2GB of PC2-4200 DDR2 RAM is an extra large 200GB SATA hard drive to store even more movies. The display is a 17" WXGA+ high-definition widescreen with BrightView technology (1440 x 900 resolution).

To compliment the super sharp widescreen is the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 video card with 256MB of video memory, and QuickPlay music and DVD buttons (backlit of course). The DV9260NR HP Pavilion also comes with a PVR (personal video recorder) with ATSC/NTSC TV tuners for recording TV shows. Feel like giving the beautiful widescreen a break? Not a problem with the S-video output capabilities for regular TVs, and a HDMI interface to connect to plasma TVs. You are free to use the included HP mobile "media center" remote and ear bud headphones, but to really appreciate the Altec Lansing quality you should go unplugged.

Bundled with the new HP Pavilion isn't any ordinary Windows Vista – it's Windows Vista Ultimate. Included are Microsoft Works, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Sonic DigitalMedia Plus, HP QuickPlay, Photosmart Premier, muvee autoProducer DVD Edition with Burning and more.

Overall, I would highly recommend the HP Pavilion notebook (model DV9260NR) for those that demand a fully functional, high quality entertainment notebook.
